On Thursday, 25th September, a merry band of 29 pilgrims set out on the last of this year’s Oratory day pilgrimages, this time to the historic Lulworth Castle, built in the 17th century and the home of the Catholic Weld-Blundell family. Fr Francisco celebrated Mass for the pilgrims in the beautiful St Mary’s Chapel, built in the castle grounds in 1786, the first Catholic Church to be built after the Reformation. Following an enjoyable lunch stop at Poundbury the pilgrimage continued to the historic Wolfeton Manor where the group was given a guided tour of the house before heading back to Bournemouth.
