WE’RE ALMOST THERE to start the Redevelopment of our Halls!
Don’t miss our information and promotion events on Sunday 16th April after the 10.30am Solemn Mass, and on Monday 17th at 4pm and 7.30pm with Italian snacks and wine to introduce our Oratorian enterprises: CAFE NERI and the ORATORY UNDERCROFT.
We are working wtih local charities, including Autism Unlimited, whose Graham Whitehead and Tilly Larment are our Guest speakers at these events, demonstrating how our project will provide training and experience for 18-25 year olds with learning difficulties, supporting them into local employment.
Accessibility for all (replacing the external steps with a new ramp, levelling all internal floors, a disabled WC (which will also be accessible by lift from the Church above), soundproofing ceilings, street-front shop) make the Oratory Undercroft a hub for everyone in the local community.
We’re already receiving countless enquiries from community groups to use our new centre – where there’ll be a full programme of events for everyone.
We’ve already raised £273,536.01 from Parishioners and Friends (including Gift Aid claimed). Thank you! This proves what we can do! And now we urgently to that bit more.
We’re almost there – so near – but just need the final push to achieve our goal by the end of April. In addition to our Parishioners and Friends, we have also secured charitable grants from The Gubay Foundation, Talbot Village Trust, and Benefact Trust, and are very grateful for a Parishioner’s large legacy.
The Diocesan Trustees will only give the go-ahead if we have all the money. They meet on 20th April. The Contractors could start 4 weeks later (end of May), and the work is scheduled to take 20 weeks, for completion at the end of September. If we delay, we’ll have to re-tender, and the costs will have escalated – so we can’t afford to postpone this immediate opportunity.
With YOUR help, we can achieve this. Thank you – in anticipation!
